Doug has been exploring trout fishing opportunities in South America since 1997. Hes traveled and fished extensively in Argentina and Chile. He will steer you to the best rivers, guides and lodges.
Fly fishing in Patagonia has a lot in common with Montana fishing. There are numerous outstanding rivers, providing excellent dry fly, nymph and streamer fishing for large rainbows and browns. The fly patterns that catch fish in Montana produce well in Patagonia too. The scenery is spectacular with majestic mountains, volcanoes and glaciers almost always in view.
Its the differences, though, that make fishing in Argentina and Chile a special experience. On most days you have the river to yourself. Average fish size is larger and the chance to catch a trophy fish is greater.
